Re-released for the very first time on vinyl since its original release
Charlie Whitehead, a.k.a. Raw Spitt, 1970 first full length, produced by Swamp Dogg for Canyon records. The remastered CD version includes 5 bonus tracks and new liner notes penned by Swamp Dogg.
I had forgotten about these songs until I was treated to an advance copy of Raw Spitt. I was immediately taken back over 40 years in the Soul Time Machine. Classic southern soul with tinged by the Dogg’s sociopathic distrust of mainstream society. It stands the test of time.WYMA
This is a great find for those few who knew of Raw Spitt, those tracking down Williams’ work as a producer, and anyone seeking new veins of fine ’70s soul. – Hyperbolium

40 years ago black protest music was a real hot potato. Opening and closing with some familiar hippie stuff, it only book ended some incendiary stuff about almost everything. On top of that, it’s some damn fine soul music throughout. – Midwest Records
